It’s been one of those weeks. Where LIFE just seems to get in the way of SCHOOL. Between my work and my husband’s, and the gorgeous blue skies that mean we get to weed and prune and do yardwork even while home – it seems we’ve got nothing done on the school front other than a few worksheets and one reading lesson crammed in here and there.

We spent a day up at my husband’s remodel job – so we did get some window-washing lessons in. Does that count?

And amidst the weed-pulling lessons, we got some spider-watching and worm-watching and barefoot kangaroo-hopping playtime in. Does that count?

Where does school “begin” and life “end,” or is it all the same thing? If we get behind on our lesson plans, is it ok?

It’s just preschool for us now, so it’s a great time to figure out the balance thing – or so I console myself. But I was wondering: do seasoned homeschoolers ever figure out the balance thing? Or are we constantly shifting things around a little, adjusting here and there, falling behind in one area while catching up in another and then refocusing once again?
